Man charged with forgery in Sh 35M Runda land

A man has been charged with forgery in a Sh 35 million land located in Runda.

Mohamed Abdi Mohamed is accused of forging a certificate of grant for land LR NO.12672/173 IR 89485 situated in Runda area measuring approximately 0.2412 ha, with a third entry indicating a transfer to himself purporting it to be a genuine and valid document issued by the registrar of titles known as George Gichimu Gachihi, a fact he knew to be false.

Mohamed is alleged to have committed the offense on or before 3rd May 2006 at unknown place in Kenta, jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud Margaret Mwikali Katuse of her parcel of land.

In addition, the accused person is charged with forging a sale agreement for the said land, dated 19th April 2006 purporting it to have been signed by Margret Mwikali Katuse, a fact he knew to be false.

This offense was allegedly committed on or before 19th April 2006 at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, jointly with others not before court.

Mohammed is further facing charges of forging a land transfer document and uttering forged documents to Directorate of Criminal Investigation officers at DCI Headquarters at Mazingira House.

He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai and was released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000 and one contact person.

The case will be mentioned on 7th July 2026 for pre-trial.
