A man has been charged with defrauding unsuspecting land buyers over Sh 112 million for purchase of pieces of land in Karen Nairobi.
Abdiwahab Sheikh Abdi is facing two criminal cases at Milimani Law Courts for offenses committed between the year 2016 and 2017.
In the first case, Abdi is accused of obtaining Sh 26 million from Emmanuel Wangwe by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to him Land Parcel, L.R. No. 13873/3, situated in Karen, Nairobi, a fact he knew to be false.
The accused person is also charged with obtaining Sh 25 million from Bernard Masaka Shinali by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to him Land L.R. No. 13873/9, situated in Karen, Nairobi, a fact he knew to be false.
In addition, Abdi is charged with defrauding Ben Kiptoo Ego Sh 26.5 million by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to him Land Parcel No. L.R. No. 13873/2, situated in Karen, Nairobi, a fact he knew to be false.
According to the charge sheet, the accused person also obtained Sh 16 million from Abdikadir Ali Ibrahim by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to him Land Parcel No. L.R. No. 13873/11, situated in Nairobi, a fact he knew to be false.
In the second case, Abdi is accused of fraudulently obtaining Sh 18.7 million from Doctor Fatuma Ibrahim Adan by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to her a property known as Certificate of Title Land Reference No. 13873/10 IR. No. 154943 measuring 0.1645 Hectares situated within Karen plains in Nairobi, a fact he knew to be false.
He denied all the charges before Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai and was granted a total bond of Sh 4 million.
Alternatively, Abdi can deposit a cash bail of Sh 500,000 in each case to secure his release pending the hearing and determination of the case.
