The Mombasa woman arrested for allegedly tracking President William Ruto’s flight has been released from custody as ordered by the High Court in Nairobi.
Justice Alexander Muteti ordered the release of Halima Ngache alias Princess Halima, by close of business 3rd July, 2026.
Ngache was arrested on 30th June 2026 by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) during an operation in Mombasa after allegedly being linked to the said X account.
The judge overturned a lower court’s decision that had allowed Ngache to detained for three days to allow police to conclude investigations through forensic analysis.
According to court documents, the DCI officers have since seized two mobile phones, a laptop, a tablet, flash drives and other electronic devices relevant to the investigation were seized.
It is alleged that Ngache published posts on 8th June 2026 claiming President Ruto travelled from Belgium to Norway aboard a chartered private jet; from Norway to Finland on 10th June, and another post on 25th June claiming the president had left Kenya and was expected to board a private jet in Madagascar.
According to investigators, the motive for the tracking remains unknown.
