A three-judge bench started delivering the 350 page judgement on the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday 8th June 2026 at around 12.30 PM.
The judgement was delivered for hours by judges Fridah Mugambi, Anthony Mrima and Eric Ogola.
In the case, the petitioners argued that the impeachment process was unconstitutional and illegal.
Gachagua was impeached in October 2024, two years after assuming office with President William Ruto.
After the impeachment by both the Senate and the National Assembly, Gachagua moved to court to challenge the constitutionality and legality of the impeachment process.
