A Congolese woman has been charged with conspiracy to defraud a foreigner over Sh 300,000 in a fake gold deal.
La Jole Kabesha Mushunda alias Gesere is accused of conspiring with another already before court to steal Sh 309,000 from Azimagli Serge Amani.
The offense was committed under the pretense that the accused person was in a position to facilitate the inspection of 200kgs of gold bars which had been detained at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) a fact she knew to be false.
Mushunda is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 2nd 6th August 2024 within the Republic of Kenya.
She denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina and was released on bail.
